You must install, or check to make sure it is installed, the "LPR" from the "Synaptic Package Manager (SPM)" as well as their deb files. With the printer connected using USB, If you run " inxi -Fxzd" and " lsusb" from the console terminal prompt, highlight the results, copy and paste them back here, that should provide enough information.įYI: The Brother printer installation script appears to do exactly the same thing as installing their deb files. I would hope to be as familiar with Linux in time. I have used Windows since 1995 and although it is crazy I am familiar with Windows. Keep in mind Brother is truly an awful software company, I have to download new Brother printer software almost every other month if Windows does a major update. This is my final attempt at this.I will go back to Windows if I can not print or scan, I have no choice. I have a 64 bit system and the latest version of Mint.
